Project Leader Innovation Platforms

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Project Leader to drive the development of our Smart Innovation Platform from initial concept through to full implementation. In this global role within our R&D department, you will combine strong technical expertise—particularly in Python, API integrations, and AI agents—with a practical, solution-focused mindset. You thrive on working with cutting-edge technologies, actively contribute to building solutions yourself, and confidently lead projects across diverse, international teams to turn innovative ideas into scalable, real-world applications. 

• Implementation and maintenance of suitable Sika-specific digital process workflows (e.g., Stage-Gate eWorkflows) within the “Sika Innovation Portal (SIP)” by configuring the licensed HYPE software platform, taking into account defined process specifications and user requirements (e.g., innovation and product development workflows). 
• Responsibility for administration, updates, and maintenance of the HYPE platform as the central solution for the SIP and related applications. 
• Support for the cross-departmental development and optimization of innovation processes in close collaboration with the relevant organizational units. 
• Organization and delivery of user training sessions as well as comprehensive technical support (via email and ServiceNow). 
• Taking on deputy/backup responsibilities within the Global Information Management department and the InfoCenter team. 
• Development of an AI agent for automated generation of answers to support requests, implemented in Python using Azure resources. 
• Code versioning with GitHub and Bitbucket for structured software development and traceability of changes. 
• Building and maintaining automated deployments using GitHub Actions (DevOps approach). 
• Maintaining technical documentation and project records in Confluence. 
• Conducting data analyses and automated data preparation for further processing, import, consolidation, and enrichment using Python—including development of the corresponding scripts. 
• Development and implementation of REST API interfaces between HYPE and other source and/or target systems. 
• Automated testing of applications and workflows with Playwright and TypeScript. 

Required 

• Higher education/training in Business Informatics, Data Science,  Information Management or similar field 
• Strong experience leading complex technical data platform projects in a matrix global environment  
• Proven experience with Python and its practical use with APIs/interfaces and Databricks 
• Experience developing AI Agents (LLMs, RAG, MS Copilot etc.) – automation of email responses, chatbots, data sets 
• Good understanding of process design and ability to build workflows 
• Ability to configure software on a web content management system (e.g. Hype, etc) 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English  
• Works well independently, with strong time management and prioritization skills 
• A self-driven person who enjoys, working in an agile environment, takes on a wide range of tasks, and drives developments and projects in line with team and company priorities 

Preferred 

• Fluency in German 
• Experience with innovation management platforms 
• Experience with MS Apps, MS Power BI, SQL
